Day 1: Day 1 - Visiting a Masai Village

This is a rare opportunity to truly immerse yourself in traditional Masai culture. The day starts herding cattle with Masai warriors on an easy and enjoyable stroll down a magnificent valley. Along the way, the people of traditional Masai village we’re visiting will share insights into their culture. We spend the rest of the day at their village with their families. Here you’ll connect with amazing Masai women whose stories will both shock and inspire you. They’ll also help you create your own piece of traditional jewelry as a keepsake of your day in magical Masai country.

Day 2: Day 2 - Helping at a soup kitchen in Nairobi

Stop At: Ngong Hills, Great Rift Valley Mageso Chember, Nairobi 00200 Kenya
You’ll gain a real understanding of what life is like for so many Kenyan families when we spend the day at a soup kitchen for toddlers. They’ll touch your heart as you help us prepare them a nutritious meal and play games with them. Here we’ll also meet some of their mums or dads who are living below the poverty line and often on the streets.

Day 3: Day 3 – Helping grandma keep the family together

Yes, a tiny piglet can change a life! We’re visiting a grandma who’d normally be working in the fields so she can feed her orphaned grandchildren. Today though she’s waiting to welcome us and when you give her the piglet, the song and dance begins. This moment is emotional – it marks the start of a whole new life for the grandma who’ll have her own small farming business in less than a year. Throughout the day she’ll share her life, culture, stories and traditions with you – it’s an experience that is sure to change your life too.

Day 4: Culture and Community Tour of Ngong Women's Center - a center of hope and healing

Stop At: Ngong Hills, Great Rift Valley Mageso Chember, Nairobi 00200 Kenya
You will receive a traditional African welcome at the Women's Center and the communities delight and enthusiasm for their guests will be immediately obvious and inspiring. From 10.15 until lunchtime you will play a part in hearing some of the ladies stories about life in Kenya, about family relationships, marriage, polygamy and what it means to be a women in Kenya. The stories will amaze you and leave you with hope about the resilience and strength of women in Kenya • And during this time the conversation will be interrupted only by Kenyan tea and coffee and the bonding that happens when friendships are born. After sharing a lunch of fresh fruit, our women's community is eager to hear about your own life and its journey and to understand the differences between your own journey and theirs. It's an interaction that few people are able to have and we stand by our view that this tour and holiday is about change. It's a two way street where people from different cultures meet but cultures which have the same values and where people share similar dreams • Your personal contribution of supplies (which you have contributed from your fees) are handed over by you to the women and this wiil help them launch their own small businesses. The afternoon concludes with a short visit to the centres child care facility which is caring for the women's children and also the farm which they have set up to help them work themselves out of poverty.. The tour concludes with a short drive back to your hotel where you will arrive around 4.30 pm. It's an amazing day which will leave you inspired by a community of women that reflects the strength and determination of the human spirit. People taking control of their lives in a way which will leave you with the view that poverty can be overcome.

Day 5: Help the Masai build a Manyatta - their traditional nhome

Stop At: Ngong Hills, Great Rift Valley Mageso Chember, Nairobi 00200 Kenya
Meet members of one of the most well-known surviving tribes in the world, the Maasai, and learn a quirky new skill in the process. Ever built a hut before? Well, you will find out how to do just that on this very special tour, picking up tips from the Masai masters themselves. You will spend the day in the beautiful Kenyan countryside, getting to know some of the friendly members of the tribe as they teach you how to build manyattas. The building of these huts is important to the continued survival of the tribe, providing homes for families and, as most are built by female members, a vital source of income for local women. A traditional lunch is included, which will offer another chance to chat to your hosts and compare life stories. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get up close and personal with a modern day tribe and should not be missed while you’re in Nairobi.
