Kenya and Tanzania Safari

Days 1: Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival in Nairobi, we are met and transferred to our hotel. Nairobi Serena Hotel

Day 2-3: Nairobi - Amboseli National Park

We drive to Amboseli National Park, famous for its big game and views of snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro. Spend the morning and afternoon game viewing. Amboseli Serena Lodge 

Day 4: Amboseli - Arusha, Tanzania - Lake Manyara National Park

Today we cross the Kenyan border into Tanzania, arriving in Arusha in time for lunch. We then continue to Lake Manyara, in the Great Rift Valley, for an afternoon game drive. Lake Manyara Serena Hotel 

Day 5: Lake Manyara National Park - Ngorongoro Highland 

We have the opportunity to tour a working coffee farm or simply relax before our lavish lunch. Later, we drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. At a depth of 2,000 feet, this caldera, created by the collapse of an extinct volcano, contains a "Lost World" of wildlife and cattle-herding Maasai. Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge 

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater 

A day of superb game viewing with a picnic lunch. The Crater, one of Africa's most magnificent wildlife arenas, is up to 12 miles across and its grasslands are a haven for an estimated 30,000 large mammals, including lion, elephant, hyena, hippos, wildebeest, gazelle and the endangered black rhino. Day 7-9: Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti National Park

This morning we drive to the spectacular Serengeti plains. The Serengeti is unique in the world. Plains, rivers and rocky outcroppings all have resident populations of wildlife and the panoramas are breathtaking. We explore here on morning and afternoon game drives in search of large predators and the gentle herbivores on which they feed.. Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge & Kirawira Serena Tented Camp 

Day 10: Serengeti - Arusha - Nairobi - Masai Mara Game Reserve 

We fly to the Masai Mara, Kenya's finest reserve, a vast expanse of open land with a dense concentration of resident animals. Our stay begins with an afternoon game drive amid the elephant, warthog, lion, and wandering herds of plains game. Mara Intrepids Club 

Days 11-12: Masai Mara

We spend two days in this magnificent savannah country, the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem. On morning and afternoon game drives, we may see plains game such as impala, and Grant's and Thomson's gazelles, as well as leopard and cheetah. Mara Intrepids Club 

Day 13: Masai Mara - Nairobi - Fly Back home

We fly to Nairobi, with free time for shopping and relaxation prior to this evening's international flight. Nairobi Serena Hotel (dayroom)
