About this activity
Hell's Gate National Park Tour starts by pick up at 7am at your Nairobi Hotel.
The journey takes a drive down the Great Rift Valley stopping at the viewpoint for photography. You then continue on to get to Hell's Gate National Park to arrive at 9:30am. Once at the Park, you have the option of a game drive in a Safari vehicle or take bikes into the Park. Cycling in the Park is a great adventure as you get to ride the bikes for 7 Kilometers before resting at a ranger's post.
After a brief stop at the rangers post you leave the bike and start a walking safari. Enjoy the spectacular views of the gorge. Continue on foot into the park’s distinctive gorges, where narrow passageways and caves are sunk into sedimentary rock. After a 1-hour walk, stop by a local Maasai community to learn about traditional life and customs in the Great Rift Valley, then head to Naivasha Fisherman’s camp for lunch (own expense).
Explore Lake Naivasha wildlife on a 1-hour boat tour (not included in price). Spot the hippos that linger just at the surface of the water, and see some of the diverse birdlife; African fish eagles, lesser flamingos, African spoonbill, and little grebe are all common here.
At 4pm, finish the day with return transfer to your hotel in Nairobi.

Francis our driver was incredibly patient. Engaging and very respectful. I was impressed by his punctuality and my goodness.. the music he was playing . oh my..throwback to the 90’s r and b era.. lulled us all to sleep..Amazing patient tour guide when we arrived at Hells gate in lake Naivasha. The bike ride was a little bumpy but worth the ride. The scenic drive/ ride on the bike was magnificent.. I highly recommend this excursion!
This was a really great day, well organised, enjoyable, active and as described. The only criticism is that I think it was on the upper end of expense, but overall a great day.
We had an amazing time at Hells Gate National Park! Our guide, David, was very patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this tour!
Hells gate is a strenuous activity but is not listed as such, there is climbing and rappelling to do. Our driver tried to get us to do the optional boat ride ($), we refused. He wouldn't take us by the coffee plantation road unless we booked another tour the next day, we refused. Viator, not happy.
