Cycling in the Vineyards Off-Road Bike Tour

About this activity
Meet your bike tour guide and other guests (limited to a max of 10) at Bouchaine Vineyards, where you will be outfitted with your mountain bike and helmet. After a safety briefing and orientation, you'll set off for a tour through the vineyards.
At each winery, your guide introduces you to your tasting room host, who leads a guided tasting of the flight of wines. Learn about the wine-making philosophies and practices of each winery during your tasting, which generally lasts about an hour.
Expect to bike for about 2 to 4 miles (3 to 6km) to the first winery, a similar distance to the second winery, and another few miles to return at the end of your ride. There is plenty time along each biking segment to soak in the scenery and take photos. In total, the total amount of riding is less than 10 miles; the terrain is mostly flat along a mix of about 70% quiet country roads and 30% off-road riding through the vineyards.
Most of the off-road riding is on wide dirt roads between blocks of vineyards, so rest assured you don’t need to be an experienced mountain biker by any stretch; however, off-road riding is inherently bumpy compared to riding on paved roads, so this tour is best suited for reasonably confident bike riders.
At the end of 4.5 hours, return to your starting point at Bouchaine Vineyards to conclude your tour in the early afternoon.

- Lunch is not included on this tour. Take care to have a good breakfast the morning of your tour. The wineries we will visit do not sell or serve any food and do not allow picnicking onsite. Tour Guides carry granola bars if you need a light snack. Bikes have handlebar bags if you wish to bring your own light snack along. But please, no sandwiches/picnics.

- Please note: This is a wine-focused tour that includes visiting three wineries. Although wine tasting fees are not included upfront, there is an expectation that guests signing up for this tour will be participating in tastings. This tour is not a good choice for guests with limited interest in wine tasting.
