About this activity
Your day in California wine country starts as you hop aboard the Sonoma Wine Trolley, modeled after the famous historical cable cars of San Francisco. Enjoy the breeze as your knowledgeable tour guide whisks you off to four outstanding Sonoma-area wineries, known for both their wines and their hospitality.

Each wine tasting takes place in a private setting, where your own representatives at each winery will explain the different varietals you’ll sample and the background of the wineries (wine tasting fees are not included and you can expect fees of $15 to $25).

There will be wonderful photo opportunities on this tour and your friendly guide will be happy to take a photo or two of your group so you can document your memorable day in wine country.

In addition to your live guide, a local historian and actor, George Webber, provides the recorded narration of the Sonoma Wine Country Trolley. Between winery stops, enjoy his upbeat, whimsical commentary and stories as you travel through California's early history. Some of the historic landmarks you’ll see on the tour include:
• The Sonoma and Swiss hotels
• General Vallejo's Soldier Barracks
• Mission San Francisco Solano (Sonoma Mission)
• Bear Flag Monument
• General Vallejo's Home and State Park
• Sonoma Development Center
• Town of Glen Ellen

Enjoy lunch in a hidden-gem location, which may be among a vineyard, on a garden terrace or in a wine cellar, depending on the weather. Indulge in a picnic catered by Sonoma’s famous The Girl & the Fig restaurant, four-star rated on OpenTable and Yelp. Their delicious and hearty lunches are served family style, allowing everyone to pick and choose from a variety of sandwiches, side salads and desserts. Bottled water is included.

The Sonoma wine trolley was a great experience and a unique way to explore Sonoma. Paul was such a great tour guide, he had the whole day planned for us. He gave us some history on Sonoma, scheduled all of our stops for the day, and provided a great tour. I highly recommend taking this tour if you are in the Sonoma Valley area.

The trolley ride was a really nice way to see Sonoma and our driver was very knowledgeable and helpful! We thoroughly enjoyed the vineyards they took us to and the tours offered at the Ravenswood and Buena Vista Winery’s. We would definitely recommend this tour and think the cost was reasonable.

A good trip, luckily for us the trolley bus had technical problems so we went on a coach, the 4 wineries we visited were interesting and a good way of seeing some of the countryside around Sonoma, a good tour guide.

Ride was extremely bumpy... this should be included in the description. I have had a mastectomy in the last two years and I was in a lot of pain for the next couple of days. Also, the steps on the trolley are very high, my mother is 77, this was problematic. This needs to be included in the descri

The open air Trolley is a great way to experience Napa Valley. We visited three wineries and had four tasting opportunities. Lunch is included and you decide which of the wineries you want to partake in the tastings tasting fees not included. Rutherford, Raymond and Andretti were the wineries we visited and all were charming and provided a wonderful, informative experience. The people I met were fantastic and added so much fun to the day!

Although this felt a bit commercialized, it was a fun way to travel through wine country
