Half-Day Trip to Herculaneum from Amalfi, Maiori, or Ravello

This 4-hour tour of the wonders of Herculaneum begins with pickup at your area accommodation. Groups staying in Maiori, Amalfi, or Ravello will travel by private car or minivan. You have the flexibility to book for morning or afternoon departure, and groups ranging from 1-15 people are catered for.
In the shadow of Mt. Vesuvius, Herculaneum was one of several towns catastrophically impacted by the volcano’s eruption in 79 AD. Given Herculaneum's close proximity to Vesuvius, it was deluged by pyroclastic flows, which quickly buried the town. The result is that today’s excavated ruins are strikingly well preserved, and provide visitors a glimpse into ancient Roman life.
