Join the group and have lunch in a typical Italian pizzeria to enjoy a pizza and a soft drink (included).

You'll drive through the town of Torre del Greco to Vesuvius National Park, then hike to the summit of Vesuvius to take a walk around the eerie crater at 3,900 feet (1,200 meters). Remember to wear comfortable walking shoes! A medium to high level of fitness is required to complete the climb.

From the summit, the panoramic views of the Bay of Naples have captivated visitors for centuries. Then, peer down into the depths of the crater to see plumes of steam issuing from the sleeping, but still active, volcano.

After that return to your coach and travel back to Naples. Your tour finishes at the start point in the afternoon.

The tour was great and above expectations with knowledgeable guides. What really took it over the top was the unfortunate fact that the summit was closed due to safety concerns of excessive winds blowing visitors and Viator offered refunds or retrips the next day. Thank you for a great experience.

Pizza, drive to volcano, walk up hill to see volcano, walk back down again. 1 euro to take a piss and some good well priced souvenirs on the way. Good.

Had they been telling us how the tour will be handled we shouldn't have booked this tour. Instead of taking us direct to Mt Vesuvius, they collected us from Naples at 12.30, drove to Pompeii and handed over to one lady. After 10 min walking and 15 min waiting on the road side, she handed over us to another lady. Again walking for some 15 min in the sun, she herded us into a restaurant for a useless pizza I have never eaten such a bad margherita before ! No choice! and around 45 min waiting! Then, again walking to the parking lot and finally boarded the bus. At the base of Mt Vesuvius we were told you have one hour to go up and come back!! Overall a horrible experience. I advice people to use Circum Vesuviana to conveniently enjoy your trip.
