Naples Underground Archaeology Tour

During this tour, join a local archaeologist, and dive beneath the city streets of Naples for a tour of ancient Roman and Greek sites that remain buried beneath the modern city. Your guide will be a trained classical historian and thus will be able to give you expert guidance and answer any questions about politics, social life, and ancient society.

The tour will focus on the extensive archaeological site beneath the church of San Lorenzo Maggiore. Here we will encounter the ancient Agora, which was converted into the Forum during Roman times. This was the heart of Roman politics in Naples and also commerce.

Discover a series of ancient roads and more everyday aspects of Roman life, such as a bakery, a laundry, and ancient graveyard.
