Naples' Museums Day tour

If you really wish to know something of the history of this intriguing city a tour of Naples’ museums is a must. A car will collect you from your hotel and take you to see some of the hidden treasures of this sprawling metropolis.
The first visit of the day is to the “Royal Palace” in Piazza del Plebiscito. Here you can see wonderful paintings commissioned by the sovereigns themselves during the period of royal rule in the city.
Next is a visit to the “National Archaeological Museum” which houses a host of interesting artefacts. There is the Egyptian Collection, the second largest in Italy, the Farnese Collection with Greco-Roman exhibits and the collection for the excavations of nearby Pompeii and Herculaneum.
There is a one and a half hour lunch stop and if you take your driver’s advice you will go for a real Neapolitan Pizza at one of the best pizzerias in the city!
After lunch you visit the “Museum of Capodimonte where you can see some of the finest works by artists such as Caravaggio, Tiziano, El Greco and Brugel to name but a few. There is then time to enjoy a walk through the beautiful museum park.
