POMPEII Half Day - from NAPLES city center (ticket included)

After having used the morning pick-up service at your hotel in Naples between 10:00 am. and 10:20 am., we will meet the guide for a 35-minute trip in MINIBUS to the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There are 44 hectares of excavated area, which constitute an archaeological site that has no equal in the world.

Here, one summer day of 79 AD, the Vesuvius erupted submerging the flourishing city of Pompeii with volcanic dust. Unaware of the imminent danger, most people normally continued their daily lives. As a result, the entire city and about 20,000 of its inhabitants were buried under tons of ash and burning pumice. Nearly 2,000 years later, the ancient Pompeii remains preserved and the artifacts on display provide a fascinating picture of life in Roman times.

Visiting the ancient site together with the guide, you can observe with your own eyes the houses, streets and public buildings preserved over time by volcanic ash. You can admire the ancient square and the forum, the ancient limestone columns still standing today and you can immortalize scenes that have gone through the centuries. Accompanied by the guide, the tour then continues in the baths, where many citizens of the time spent their days between baths and chats. Walking along Via degli Augustali you will discover the Lupanare, the ancient pleasure house of Pompeii, a building decorated with some of the city's most fascinating and sensual frescoes. We then explore the Casa dei Vettii, an ancient Pompeian luxury residence. Careful and scrupulous excavations have brought to light numerous splendid frescoes on the walls of the house, demonstrating the richness and importance of its ancient inhabitants.

The exact route will depend on the crowding of visitors and weather conditions. At the end of the visit to Pompeii, the tour ends with a return to Naples by bus.
