About this activity
Pickup at your hotel approximately at 8AM if you are staying in Naples, at 9AM if you are staying in Sorrento.
Private transfer to Villa Ida in Sorrento, where you will join the cooking class.
Our cooking classes take place at Villa Ida in Sorrento, where we welcome you with some freshly squeezed orange juice, a slice of delicate lemon flavoured plum-cake and a Neapolitan coffee.
Afterwards, you will move on to the kitchen area to begin your cooking lesson in preparing some traditional Italian dishes, with a particular emphasis on Neapolitan recipes.
Although the menus vary according to season, you will begin with an appetizer, continue with a first and second course, and end with a delicious dessert, all prepared by you and others in your cooking classes. The recipes will be clearly demonstrated in a warm and relaxed atmosphere by “Zia Angela”, who will share with you the secrets of preparing typical local cuisine as she learned from her mother “Ida“.
Menus are selected that reflect the freshest ingredients of the season, and the vegetables featured in the menus are produced at “Tenuta Mastro Giacomo” by Zia Angela’s husband. Typical Neapolitan music will set the tone for your cooking class. The cooking class lasts approximately 3 hours, during which you will take a break to visit the family’s wine cellar and taste some uniquely handcrafted, homemade wines and local cheeses. “Charlie” the man behind the production of this wine, will explain the various phases of his wine production. Then, carafes will be filled with a selection of these wines that you will enjoy while continuing your lessons and with your lunch.
At the end of your cooking lesson, you will have lunch with the fruits of your labor.
After that, you will have a private transfer to Pompeii where you will meet your local tour guide for a 2-hour private tour of the ruins of the ancient city with Virtual Reality headsets.
A professional guide and staff member will check you in and give you your 'time traveling equipment' (your VR headset). You will follow your guide into the ruins and arrive at your first point of interest. Listen to your fun and passionate guide as he or she speaks about current points of interest. Next, you will be instructed to put on your virtual reality headset and witness the point of interest you are standing in front of come back to life right before your eyes! The streets, homes, taverns, temples, theaters, markets and citizens of Pompeii live again as they once were. After watching each 2- to 6-minute 'virtual reality scenes' you will have time to take pictures and speak with your guide.

At the end of the tour, you have your private transfer to your accommodations in Naples/Sorrento.
Approximate arrival time back at your hotel: 6 pm if dropping off in Naples; 6.30 pm if dropping off in Sorrento
