About this activity
Meet your driver at your hotel and head out for a small-group horseback tour of Jamaica. Listen to a brief introduction of what to expect on the ride. This laid-back tour is geared toward people of all riding levels and experience. But it is far more than just a horseback ride along Jamaica’s scenic beaches — it’s also a great way to learn about the area, as your guide reveals fascinating information behind the local animals, fruits and medicinal plants.

Listen as your guide details the history of Jamaica’s staple fruit trees and describes how the locals eat them, even letting you try a taste when in season. Next enjoy a brief animal stop. Get your camera out for a prime photo op with Mary our “pet Ostrich “. and your guide will gladly take your photo.

Take in the beautiful tropical scenery as you saunter along the beach and tropical coastal trails on your horse, as your guide continues to tell you about the locals. Encounter Jamaican medicinal plants like noni, a fruit high in antioxidants, and fever grass (lemon grass), plus many more herbs & spices used by locals. Learn about logwood & red mangrove trees (used to make dye), pimento (used in allspice and jamaica’s key jerk sauce) and aloe vera (used for insect bites).

Eat our sugarcane, ride through our mangrove tunnel and experience an eco-friendly wildlife forest. Our unspoiled private beach awaits you for a fun filled horseback ride m’ swim, where you’ll splash through the warm turquoise Caribbean ocean. Guides will capture unlimited Free Photos with your cameras. Awesome !

All six of us said this was the best event in our entire trip. The main guide was terrific. He made sure we were safe and his information about the wildlife was good. The horses were tame and we felt very safe. It was a fantastic experience for us.

I had a really good time on this trip with Reggae Horseback Riding. I was the only person on the tour. The pick-up was a few minutes late due to a last minute change in driver -- the original one had a flat tire on the way to the hotel. The delay did not matter because I was the only person scheduled for the tour. The farm has about 45 horses and it is an easy ride along the trail to the beach. Make sure you take your sunscreen and bug spray. The guide pointed out a number of plants and other things of interest along the ride to the beach. We stopped at the beach for about 20 minutes before returning to the farm. The farm has chickens, peacocks and an ostrich. An ostrich -- the last thing I expected to see in Jamaica. I felt that this trip was much more personalized than the horseback riding tours that I saw traveling along the beach in front of my hotel. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a short half day trip while in Negril.

Our guides were very quiet but friendly, but more than half the trip was riding down a dirt path with nothing but trees on either side until we reached the beach. The ride into the ocean was awesome but very short. On a positive side, they took lots of pics and videos for us and it was much closer to our hotel than the Island Routes tour. Would we do it again? Probably not.

This was definitely a small group considering it was only my husband and I on the tour. We were picked up right on time in a taxi, and it was about a half an hour ride from the Tree House Resort in Negril. The best thing I liked about this ride was that we didn't have to ride in a straight line like most trail rides, we could ride side by side. The guides were great and took tons of pictures of us with my camera. I would definitely recommend this tour
