About this activity
Day 1 Delhi – Jhansi – Orchha - Khajuraho

This morning, we embark on a train journey and travel to the historic city of Jhansi. We board the express train from Delhi at 6 a.m. and arrive at Jhansi Railway Station at 10.45. Our associate will then take you on a tour of the historic town of Orchha. Orchha was founded in the 16th century by the Bundela Rajput Chief Rudra Pratap. The town flourished with great architectural structures during the reign of Shah Jahan. While in Orchha, we visit the marvellous Orchha Fort complex that is home to several ancient monuments like palaces, forts, temples and various other edifices. See the stunning monuments such as the Sheesh Mahal, the Raja Mahal, the Jahangir Mahal and the Phool Bagh on the fort complex. After being enamoured by the beauty of Orchha we continue our journey, heading toward the town of Khajuraho, on arrival check into your hotel room.

Day 2 Khajuraho

A stupendous town with a history dating back to the 10th and 11th centuries Christian era, Khajuraho is renowned across the world for its awe-inspiring Hindu and Jain temples. Khajuraho is known for the Khajuraho group of monuments constructed by the Chandela Dynasty rulers who built several temples, each depicting man’s different activities in life; from meditation to kinship and wrestling to cooking. Despite the fact that erotic art is most associated with the Khajuraho group of temples, the fact remains that only fracture of the structures depict eroticism. Out of the over 15 majestic temples here, some of the most famous ones on the western, eastern and southern groups include the Lakshama Temple, the Parsvanath temple, and the Chattarbhuj temple. Most of the temples here are built in sandstone in various shades of pink and yellow. Khajuraho monuments have been ranked as the best preserved monuments of antiquity by the Archaeological Survey of India.
