Diwali 2018: Indian Family, Homestay, Food and Cooking Class

On the Diwali day, you will be picked up from your hotel in an air conditioned car/van. You will travel to a relatively old and smaller town to experience this great festival authentically. on reaching your destination, the local family will welcome you traditionally. After the welcome tea, you will be served a special lunch. Post lunch, you will be helping family in decoration, cooking and shopping. You may wear tradiotinal Indian dress like saree, suit or kurta (optional). The pooja takes place in between 6-8 PM (local priest tells the auspicious time). People worship the goddess Lakshmi, goddess of wealth & happiness, for well being of their family. Oil lamps (made from clay, with a cotton wick dipped in oil) are lit on all the walls and boundaries of house. Everybody do the same & the scene is breath taking. You will try your hands on Indian cooking and relish the tasty Diwali special dinner. Enjoy the fireworks after your food and chat with your Indian friends late at night looking at the glittering sky.
Next day you will be taken back to Delhi and drop at your hotel.
