The Taj Maha is an ivory-white marble mausoleum on the south bank of the Yamuna river in the Indian city of Agra. It was commissioned in 1632 by the Mughal emperor, Shah Jahan (reigned from 1628 to 1658), to house the tomb of his favourite wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

The Agra Fort, also known as the “Lal –Qila”, “Fort Rouge” is the highlight of the city of Agra, then capital of the Mughal Sultanate. A symbol of power, strength and resilience, as it stands today in full glory.

Stop At: Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, Yamuna River, Agra 282001 India

The Itmad-ud-Daulah’s Tomb is one of the most impressive architectural wonders of the city of Agra. This monument is considered to be the inspiration behind the Taj Mahal. For this fact it is known as the Baby Taj Mahal.

Stop At: Mehtab Bagh, Nagla Devjit Etmadpur, Agra India

The Mehtab Bagh garden was the last of eleven Mughal-built gardens along the Yamuna river opposite the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort.

From this garden there is a magnificent view of the Taj Mahal.
