About this activity
Day One: Pick up from New Delhi Airport and transfer to city hotel followed by short sightseeing tour with local guide and dinner. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day Two - After breakfast Delhi city tour by car with stop as preferred for lunch and ending with dinner. There is a lot to see in the ancient capital of India and the tour will start in Old Delhi.

Jama Masjid ,

The Qutab Minar,

The Lotus Temple,

India Gate etc.

Day Three: The train from Delhi to Jaipur leaves at 06:50 so it will be necessary to leave the hotel before breakfast in order to reach the station at least 40 minutes before departure. One of the hotel staff will be available to call a taxi. The train arrives at Jaipur at 11:30 where a driver will be waiting with a name board to proceed to the hotel. After checking in he will continue with a half-day city tour with lunch and dinner according to individual preference and return to the hotel for overnight.

Day Four: The same driver will be available for a wider tour of the attractions of Jaipur. Perhaps the most notable is the spectacular Amer Fort 11 kilometres out of the city, which can be approached and entered by elephant. Back in the centre of Jaipur the City Palace, hereditary residence of the rulers of this former Rajasthan kingdom, is a vast complex of several buildings including the Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal), all set amongst courtyards and gardens. Nearby, the Jantar Mantar is a later collection of complex astronomical structures devised by the king Jai Singh II in the earlier part of the 18th century. In the later afternoon there will be an opportunity to visit local bazaars before retuning to the hotel an early night.

Day Five: The night must be a brief one because the train from Jaipur departs at 02:10 to arrive at Agra at 05:50 where another driver will be waiting to go to the Taj Mahal at sunrise when it is at its most beautiful. This superlative white marble monument on the south side of the Yamuna River was commissioned by Shah Jahan in 1632 as the resting place of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. Cars must wait outside the precincts where luggage can be left safely in the driver’s care before a hotel for breakfast and refreshment followed by a visit to the Agra Red Fort, the main residence of the Mughal Emperors until 1638 when they moved to Delhi and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Finally, drive to Agra station for early evening return to Delhi.
