Meet your guide at the Red Fort entrance gate at your selected departure time to start your walking tour.Your guide will take you Red Fort where your will learn about Mughal dynasty history. This monument offers beautiful architecture and much historical significance. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan when he transferred the capital from Agra to Delhi. It took 10 years to complete the construction of this fort.
Later on visit to Masjid-i Jahan-Numa, popularly known as Jamma Masjid. It is one of the largest mosques in India and is one of the last architectural works of the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
After learning about Mughal history and architecture, proceed towards Chandi Chowk. Here you will walk though Dariba Kalan street, the 350-year-old jewelry market of Delhi, popular with the women of the Mughal household. Here you will see silver, gold, kundan, polki and diamond jewelry. Afterwards, visit the most famous dessert place, The Jalebi Wala at the corner of Dariba in Chandni Chowk to try hot, soft and juicy jalebis. Later on proceed to the most prominent Shikh pilgrimage place, Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. Here your guide will narrate its history and you can enter the temple to get first-hand experience on the Shikh religion.
After your visit to the temple, head to Paranthe Wali Gali. This street is famous for old-fashioned food, strictly vegetarian, and cooked dishes that do not include onion or garlic. You will also visit Ballimaran Market, known for fancy footwear shops, optical stores, bangle shops and some Ayurvedic chemist shops. After your market visit, your guide will take you to a shop where you will enjoy most famous Amritsar lassi.
Later, visit the Fatehpuri Mosque, a 17th-century mosque located at the western end of Chandi chowk. This mosque was built by Fatehpuri Begum, one of Emperor Shah Jahan's wives who was from Fatehpur Sikri. Finally, you will visit Khari Baoli market, Asia's largest wholesale spice market. Learn about the variety and origin of certain spices.
Your tour ends as your guide drops you off at the main gate of Red Fort, back to where your tour started.
