About this activity
After earning a masters degree in journalism Aditti decided to follow her true passion and train in the culinary arts. She hasn't looked back and now runs a catering business, which often features her beloved grandmother'€™s recipes. Aditti shares her Punjabi family recipes and will also introduce you to Mughlai and Old Delhi cuisine in all its splendid glory. She wishes to showcase the Indian warmth and sense of hospitality that she grew up with at frequent family gatherings with guests and homemade food.

Aditti is a single parent and lives alone as both her children are studying and living abroad. She grew up helping her grandmother in the kitchen, making simple meals for her family. She says every Punjabi loves parathas (flatbread), butter, ghee, lassi and is incapable of cooking in small quantities - so be ready to be well fed at her table!

Join Aditti in her kitchen to learn how to make 2-3 authentic Mughlai dishes, known for its richness from cream, butter, whole spices, dried fruits and nuts. You may learn to make aloo achari (spicy potatoes) and korma (a curry consisting of meat or vegetables braised in a spiced sauce made with yogurt, cream and nuts) or a seasonal vegetable and roti (Indian flat bread).

She'€™ll serve some of her family recipes such as dal makhni (slow cooked black lentils with kidney beans, butter and cream), mutton badami pasanda (goat curry with yogurt, cream and ground almonds), paneer lababdar (fresh cheese cooked in spicy tomato and cream sauce), kadai chicken (chicken and vegetables stir fried in a kadai, an Indian wok), a fresh salad and to end your meal, rose kulfi (frozen dairy dessert) or paan shot (a summer cooler made with pureed betel leaves).

Please note, this is not a professional cooking lesson, rather this is an opportunity to visit an authentic, local home to meet a local person and share the culture and cuisine together.
