Full-Day Taj Mahal and Agra Fort Tour from Delhi

After pickup at your hotel at 6:30am sharp, travel three to four hours to Agra in your private air-conditioned vehicle and driver. Meet your art historian guide in Agra and enjoy the Indian ritual of being garlanded with marigolds while learnign a bit about the city of Agra.

Then begin your tour at the Taj Mahal. Built by Mogul emperor Shah Jahan as a memorial for his beloved wife, this white marble beauty has become an international symbol of eternal love set within the symmetry of Charbagh Garden with its water canals and fountains. Following a buffet lunch at an Agra restaurant (vegetarian option available), continue to the Agra Fort. Like the Taj Mahal, this fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the 16th century by Mogul emperor Akbar, the fort is sometimes called the treasure house of the Mogul empire. More like an enormous walled city, the interior of the fort features lavish living quarters, mosques, and palaces including the Jahangir Palace, Sheesh Mahal, and the Khas Mahal.

Next, tour a marble factory where some of Agra's famous handicrafts are made then do some shopping before returning by private air-conditioned car and driver to Delhi where you will return to your hotel around 6:30pm.
