7:00 AM Early Morning pick up from anywhere in Delhi Hotel and drive to Agra via Express way (03 Hrs Drive).
11:00 AM On arrival meet and greet our Guide and transfer to Taj mahal Entrance Gate. Later start a tour of the world famous Taj Mahal, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This white-marble world wonder was built by a great emperor in memory of his beloved.
Note: The Taj Mahal is closed every Friday.
12:30 PM After Taj Mahal Visit the imposing Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 CE, this huge fort is made of red sandstone. The elegant buildings inside reflect an interesting synthesis of Hindu and Central Asian architectural styles. The maze of the courtyards, mosques and private chambers of the fort echo the story of the Mughal Empire.
01:30 PM After visit the Agra fort transfer to the Indian Restaurant for the Lunch.
02:30 PM After Lunch you may wish to enjoy shopping in Agra, which is known for its fabulous handicrafts, made of marble and soft-stone inlay work. The Mughal’s were great patrons of arts and crafts. Empress Nur Jahan took personal interest and was an accomplished artist herself in zari embroidery work. Agra’s major handicraft products besides inlay work are leather-ware, brass-ware, carpets, jewelry and embroidery work.
03:30 PM After Shopping visit Itmad-ud-daula has a special place in the chronicles of both history as well as architecture. This is precisely because Itmad ud Daula is the very first tomb in India that is entirely made out of Marble. This is actually a mausoleum that overlooks the River Yamuna and is a tomb of Mir Ghiyas Beg, a minister in the court of Shah Jahan. Jahangir fell in love with his widowed daughter who processes unspeakable beauty. She was later christened Noor Jahan and went down in the history as one of the most beautiful and artistically gifted women in the world. Jahangir conferred the title of Itmad-ud-daula or ‘Pillar of the Empire’ to his father-in-law. Noor Jahan ordered the tomb after the death of her father in 1622.
