Lakshminarayan temple also known as Birla Temple is one of the most prominent landmarks in the history of Delhi. This is perhaps the most prominent one of the line of temples built by the Birla family in India. This is a three storied temple built in the Nagara style of Hindu temple construction. The whole of the temple is decorated with elaborate carvings presenting scenes from the Hindu mythology. The temple was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1938. He accepted the invitation on the condition that the temple should be left open to the whole of humanity without any distinctions with regard to caste, creed and religion.

Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is the most prominent Sikh gurdwara, or Sikh house of worship, it is situated near Connaught Place, New Delhi and is instantly recognisable by its stunning golden dome and tall flagpole, Nishan Sahib. The grounds include the temple, a kitchen, a large pond, a school and an art gallery. As with all Sikh Gurdwaras, the concept of langar is practiced, and all people, regardless of race or religion may eat in the Gurdwara kitchen. At the Gurdwara, visitors are requested to cover their hair and not to wear shoes. You will experience devotion at another level where most of the visitors participate in maintenance of premises. Discipline of visitors keep them calm and focused towards the purpose of visit.

Inspired by the lotus flower, the design for the House of Worship in New Delhi is composed of 27 free-standing marble clad "petals" arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides.[5] The nine doors of the Lotus Temple open onto a central hall slightly more than 40 meters tall[6] that is capable of holding up to 2,500 people. The surface of the House of Worship is made of white marble from Penteli mountain in Greece, the very same from which many ancient monuments and other Bahá'í Houses of Worship are built. Along with its nine surrounding ponds and the gardens, the Lotus Temple property comprises 26 acres. Visiting the lotus temple is a soulful experience and makes you feel clean from inside.
