Amazing tour!!! Both our driver Prem and tour guide Kaif were professional and knowledgeable. Prem was waiting for us at the airport on arrival at 7.30am. He packed all our luggage into his clean airconditioned car and transported us safely to Agra 3.5hours drive where we picked up Kaif. We then enjoyed a 2.5 hour tour of the Taj Mahal. Kaif guided us through the site and explained all about history of this magnificent building and it surrounds. We then enjoyed a scrumcious lunch at a local restaurant. all part of the package. Followed by our return journey to New Delhi. An amazing day and experience!! Thanks to the fantastic team at Marias Tours!
Overall this was an enjoyable day - the driver was prompt and courteous he did not speak much English, but that didn't cause any issues. We were met in Agra by the tour guide from Maria Tours, who was professional and friendly. He had lots of information to impart about the the sites we visited - the Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort. I was of course very excited to see the Taj Mahal. The only drawback to the visit was that I felt I had little time to just relax and enjoy the experience. A lot of details were imparted, but I would have been okay with just sitting quietly on a bench for a while to take it all in, as it is an impressive and almost overwhelming place. I should have just spoken up about it, but guess it's too late now! I went along with the offer to have photos taken, by one of the guide's associates, since I'm not a great photographer myself. The photos turned out quite well, but I wish they would have discussed the full price up front instead of springing it on me later, after they were taken. The lunch break was at a nice restaurant that offered a sampling plate that was quite good. Only note on that is if you pre-purchase the full package that includes a meal, it does not include the drinks or gratuity. We also visited a shop in the area, which I understand is pretty much what each tour guide does. It was interesting to learn about the cultivation of gems from the region. It might be worth it to include that type of shop/artisan visit directly into the advertised tour itinerary, since it relates directly to the sites visited, and gives one a chance to meet local artisans. Also, I wasn't expecting to stop at the shop, and it would be nice to know it was part of the planned day. The trip back to Delhi was good the new expressway helps and drop off at the hotel was as planned.
My tour guide is very knowledgeable and very comfortable to be with. I highly recommend him.
