It is also known as Lal Qila, and Agra Fort.. Akbar chose this city on the bank of River Yamuna as his capital and proceeded to build a strong citadel for the purpose. Emperor Shah Jahan, had built the Taj, was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb in the Agra Fort where he had a view of the building erected for his deceased wife. It took 8 yeas and huge amount of money to complete its construction. Agra Fort in Agra contains beautiful mosques - Nagina Masjid , Meena Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Khas Mahal and Meena Bazar
