Taj Mahal Tour with Train Journey and Private Transfers

Our driver will pick and drop you from your accommodation in Delhi to Nizamuddin Railway station for boarding train to Agra. The superfast train ‘Gatiman Express’ will depart from Delhi at 08:10 am and reach Agra at 09:50 am. On arrival in Agra start board chauffeur driven car and start day tour with our expert guide.

The tour will start with visit to Taj Mahal situated on banks of Yamuna River. Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned this mausoleum to the chief architect Ustad Ahmed Lahauri in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal.

The guide will take you on the tour entering through a gigantic gateway adorned with engraved calligraphy of verses from Muslim scripture Quran. The gate opens up to Mughal Garden with colorful flowers and manicured plants.The canal with designer fountains enhances beauty of the garden. It is astonishing to see the speechless vision with which the monument is built taking note of even the trivial point in mind.

Then enter the mausoleum with a cupola and pishtaq resting on a stone platform with four minarets standing tall on its four sides. The complete use of white marble is made in its making which retains its charm even to this date. The interiors are magnificent decorated with incised paintings, latticework, mural, mosaics, frescoes, motifs, etc. It also houses false sarcophagi of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan which can be seen separated by a perforated marble screen. Every spot is a beauty to capture in the splendid Taj Mahal.

Next, move forward to another historical monument ‘Agra Fort’ The work of the fort was started by Akbar and continued sporadically by his descendants. The structure can be best described as a triangular fortification with high-rise walls measuring 70 feet high, 4 massive gates, a baoli (step-well), etc.

Meanwhile, we will take a short break and relish a filling lunch in a famous local restaurant. Order as per choice; post lunch take a stroll in the nearby local market from where you can take some souvenirs.

At 04:00 PM

We will leave for ‘Mehtab Bagh’ another Mughal architecture perfectly aligned with Taj Mahal to witness its uninterrupted view. The garden is separated from Taj Mahal by Yamuna River and offers a clear view of Taj Mahal. It is spread in square shape measuring about 300 by 300 metres (980 ft × 980 ft). Have a gripping view of sunset amid the vibrant flowers and spectacular vistas.

At 05:00 PM

After the sightseeing you will be dropped by our driver at railway station to board the train ‘Gatimaan Express’ for Delhi. The train will depart from Agra at 05:50 pm and arrive in New Delhi at 07:30 pm. Meet our driver waiting to receive you at Delhi railway station and subsequently drop at hotel or airport in Delhi.
