About this activity
Your tour begins with pickup at your hotel in Delhi by our company representative at 06:00 AM. From here, you will proceed for 3 to 4 hr drive to Agra. Upon reaching Agra, you will head to the Taj Mahal a beautiful monument built from pure white marble with semi precious stones, in the 17th century. This symbol of love, dedication and purity, is enlisted as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It embraces the graves of King Shah Jahan and his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal placed next to each other in the same chamber. However, it boasts along many myths besides a love story.
Next, your tour takes you to Korai village a tribal village, untouched by commercialism, with an intriguing history. It is the home to the Kalandher tribe who were former bear and monkey tamers. Later with the Government’s ban under Cruelty to Animals Act, they were put out of business. Enjoy wandering through the huts and watch women fetching water from the wells. Feel free to use the hand pump like the locals! Here, you can indulge in great conversations with the locals to know their living traditions. You may also get a chance to watch a monkey dance or a village magician who would showcase some of his magical tricks. A trip to Korai village will surely be an eye opener for you as you will actually yourself see how they live and what their daily routine is.
Later, just a few kms away, you will explore the city of victory Fatehpur Sikri a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a city built in honor of Sufi Saint Salim Chishti (who predicted that Akbar’s heir will be born soon) by Emperor Akbar. As per legends, Babur (the founder of the Mughal Dynasty and grandfather of Akbar) had won the battle of Khanwa here. This beautiful complex combines a blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural style. It boasts the famous Panch Mahal built by Emperor Akbar, a five-storey pavilion adorned with intricate carvings of flower vases and rosettes. Here, you can also visit the Buland Darwaza, one of the largest gateways in the world, that narrates the victory of Emperor Akbar over Gujarat. Also, it is a city that has mysterious tales linked to its existence and sudden abandonment.
Later, you will head for a lunch at a local restaurant. After relishing a delectable lunch, you will be driven back to Delhi.
