Visit St. Louis Cemetery #2, established in 1823. This cemetery has some of the most stunning funerary architecture and the best stories in the city. Here are the civil rights pioneers, jazz legends, architects of New Orleans, heroes, and scoundrels. See the "secret" resting place of a Voodoo Queen and the tombs of a pirate, a soon-to-be-saint, the first black leader of a US Army brigade, and a lieutenant governor who may have been poisoned.
