We had a 2 day pass. We took a night tour which is not in dark hours. This tour was ok as there were few stops. The next day we tried to use hop on to go from uptown to financial district but it was incredibly slow, waited 30 mins to get on and with all the stops/traffic it was over an hour to get there. So if you need transportation go subway. If you don’t mind sitting for long time hop on is ok.

Due to snow our time was limited and it was cold on the bus, we were stuck in traffic most of the time, very expensive for the time we spent on it, underground better.

We found this tour to be slow and a bit tedious. Some of the narration was not in sync with the building we were passing, making for confusion. Plus, we started at 5 pm and didn't get back until 7:30 on an October evening. By then we were cold and tired and even gave up on doing the prepaid night tour and river cruise, as we had had enough.

For your first trip to NYC it's OK , but buses are old and sometimes they don't respect the itinerary , you spend quite long for a bus but if it is full you have to wait for the next one, it could be very stressful

This system is very hard to use,you have to redeem your voucher in there main office , The buses did not stop were they said they did, The first day using the bus was a nightmare , the people on the corners with the bus vest were not very helpful, and were not there because it was raining out, I just wished they had a away to re diam the vouchers at all bus stops. On the second day it was much better and very informant.and enjoyable this could be a great thing if they just made it simpler to us.

First the positive - overall good value for the price we purchased the 2-day pass and used many of the features. Buses came frequently and most drivers were very nice. However, 2 of the live guides that narrated what we were seeing actually became annoying after about 10 minutes on the bus. The guide's speaking style for our night tour on July 15th was more like he was yelling at us, giving his opinion on local restaurants and getting caught up in politics. He also commented many times that he had already worked an 11 hour day and he was very tired. More importantly was what happened with our guide on Sunday, July 16 on the Uptown tour, Jose. His constant repetition of a corny phrase after each fact was annoying but as my 23 year old daughter and I were leaving the bus he engaged in conversation with my daughter while he stood holding his tip jar, he then took her hand and kissed it telling her she was pretty. While we waited for the bus to stop he leaned into my daughter hugging her and asking her for a kiss! She was alarmed and said no, I had to step between them. This was totally unprofessional and crossed the line completely in our minds. I highly doubt your company would condone such behavior and thought you'd want to know what is going on with some of your staff in the field. I am a repeat Viator customer and have always been very satisfied with the quality of your guides and tour offerings. I also am a business owner with technicians in the field - I would definitely want to know if one of my people acted this way to a customer.

This bus pass is good for the first time seeing the city. We got it a second time and really found the flaws with these buses. It rained the first day and that was nothing short of a complete disaster! Since the top is open everyone was on the bottom, and the only choices were to go upstairs in the rain and of course you're not allowed to open your umbrella upstairs, or wait in the rain for the next bus. There is a long wait for buses, sometimes 30-40 minutes and depending where you want to go next you really go out of your way to get to your next area of interest. I think after you go and use these buses one time and listen to the tour guide, your best bet is to use a cab or some other form of transportation.
