About this activity
A 90 minute walking tour leads up to your visit to the Statue of Liberty's pedestal. You'll begin with a visit to the 9/11 Memorial where your guide will give a full explanation of the symbolism and meaning of the memorial so you'll leave with a much deeper appreciation of the national memorial that commemorates the victims of September 11th 2001.
From there you’ll head to world famous Wall Street in the heart of the Financial District. Ever wonder how Wall Street got its name or why the New York Stock Exchange ended up there? You’ll find out on this tour. The Financial District is the place where New York City was born so you'll get a brief history of the city as you stand before Federal Hall, the site where a great, historic American moment happened and you'll find out what that was.
From Wall Street you’re not far from Battery Park and the ferries that will take you on to the Statue of Liberty but first, on the way your guide will introduce you to another statue, he's much smaller and slightly less famous than Lady Liberty - but you'll see that he's still very popular. It’s The Charging Bull, the symbol of Wall Street itself. You’ll hear his unique and interesting story and find out why he's NOT where you expected him to be.
Next you'll arrive at Battery Park where the ferries launch for the Statue of Liberty. On your way to the dock your guide will tell you about the park and share some last minute tips and tricks to help you on your journey to the Statue of Liberty.
Then they’ll escort you past the long line of Flex Ticket holders for your priority entry to the ferry via the Reserve Ticket Holders. You'll wave goodbye to your guide and begin your self guided visit to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. A complimentary audio tour is included with your ticket and is available in 9 different languages once you reach the islands.
Not sure you want to go on your own? Prefer a live guide over pre recorded audio tours... or just want to continue to benefit from the experience of your local guide?
Then upgrade your visit to include a fully guided tour of the Statue of Liberty.
