About this activity

It’s hard to know where to go when you get to Central Park. This vast space holds so much history and so many beautiful photo spots (not to mention one of the most-visited museums in the world), but it can be hard for outsiders to access. You certainly can’t cover it all one trip. Traveling with a local, you’ll see all the best spots while learning the history of the park. From sights of immense cultural importance to scenic backdrops for photos, famous movie locations or just good places to chill out, this is a great way for visitors and city-dwellers alike to get a taste of Central Park. You'll meet your guide in front of the Pulitzer Fountain and give you a short intro to the history of the park. Spanning 843 acres, it has a lot of attractions that only locals know about, which is why our guides are all NYC Natives. Your guide will show you how to navigate the park then take you on a tour of our favorite spots. You'll soak up the best views of the skyline from the Gapstow Bridge, stroll down the tree-lined Literary Walk, take a few pictures at Bethesda Fountain surrounded by rowboats and horse drawn carriages, connect with history at Strawberry Fields (and sing along with the local musicians), and even stop by one of the most popular spots in the world to get engaged - just let us know beforehand if you want to pop the question. The tour will finish at 72nd street, the heart of Manhattan’s Upper West Side, where you’ll find amazing shopping and great restaurants to cap off your hike through the park. Sites Visited: - Pulitzer Fountain at the Plaza Hotel - Central Park Gate - Gapstow Bridge - Lamp posts navigation - Wollman Rink - The Dairy - Sheep Meadow - Literary Walk - Robert Burns statue - Bandshell - Bethesda fountain & tunnel - Boat pond - Cherry Hill fountain - Daniel Webster statue - John Lennon’s “Strawberry Fields”
