Carlos is a wonderful guide in Newport, knew more American history than most Americans! Very informative with a great sense of humor and very punctual. Highly recommend this tour with the history and opulence of Newport!
Our guide Troy provided an interesting commentary and stopped as often as he could for photos. We spent 90 minutes at the Breakers which was plenty of time to complete the included audio tour. Troy returned and picked us up right on time and we saw more of the city on our return to pick-up point. The tour starting point was the Visitor's Center which was a short walk from where our ship's tender docked.
Nice tour. All as stated. Easy to find, easy to do. Guide (can't remember name?) was GREAT. Just the right amount of time at Breakers. Guide told good stories and pointed out places and things to do on our own. Well done.
This tour is a good mix of a lovely informative trolley bus ride around the streets of Newport, Fort Adams, Brenton Point and Ocean Drive area South of the town. After 1hr and 10 mins we stopped at The Breakers for a 90 minute look around this beautiful house with an audio guide and then back on the bus for a 20 drive back into Newport town. Some lovely houses, beaches, views and scenery and our driver was very friendly and informative with lots of information and anicdotes
We loved the stories of Newport shared by Troy, our driver. He was knowledgeable and had a wonderful sense of humor. We had no idea of the beauty and charm of this town as we maneuvered through and around. Our favorite was the drive along Bellevue with a visit of the Breakers. Sheer magnificence! Words truly can't describe such opulence.
Our 1st time to Newport. Enjoyed guided trolley tour and visit to The Breakers. Also, very good lunch at The Red Parrot.
Trip was interesting. Moved at a good pace. The trip included sufficient time to visit the Breakers house and grounds around it..
The trolley tour was a lot of naming who is who that I had no clue who they were. Lots of more than huge "summer" homes. The breakers tour has head phones tour at your own pace. Trolley guy dropped us off at breakers and picked us up. Then driver was helpful to drop off closer to cruise terminal.
We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Price was great. Guide/Bus Driver was pleasant, but most importantly informative along with being entertaining. We traveled through town and along the road with the many mansions with a great narrative from our Guide Russ. Breakers Mansion tour is self guided but wonderful as you could tour at your own pace.
This tour and these mansions are amazing. The meeting place was next to our cruise ship debarkation point, the bus was comfortable and the guide was informative and personable. We had plenty of time to look around and take pictures. She gave us the right amount of information about the history and background of Newport.
We loved our Viator tour of Newport and the Breakers. This was the perfect way to acclimate yourself to Newport and get a thorough overview of the history and sights of Newport. We had taken Viator tours of both Paris and London and were not disappointed.
Our tour guide was Russ and he was both entertaining and informative. We thoroughly enjoyed the bus portion of the tour and then we got to see The Breakers; what an incredible property! We will definitely book this tour again because we were only in town for one day but now we will be back for more of Newport’s history!
