Segway Tours
The Welland Canal Tours begin at the St Catharines Museum located at 1932 Welland Canal Parkways L2R 7K6. It is only a 15 minutes drive from the busy Niagara Falls and about 20 minutes from Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Each Tour starts with a 10/15 minutes training during which you learn the basics of how to ride a Segway. We then let you practice a few minutes at your pace in slow speed. Once your confidence builds up, we switch to the regular speed and let you practice again. We go on the Tour only once each participant is comfortable.
The Twin-Flight Locks Tour is our most popular option. We stop 6 times on our way up to the Niagara Escarpment to learn the rich history of the Welland Canal and its installations. The path that we use is smooth and fairly straight which makes it perfect for beginners. It is only shared with pedestrians and cyclists so traffic is limited.
After a break at Lock 4, we move forward to Lock 5 and 6 for a few pictures and more explanation. Then we come back using the same path we used earlier but without stopping so you can enjoy the Segway for longer period of times.
