Tour’s itinerary
Our next stop takes place in Eze Village – medieval old town perched on a rocky hill part of which would still remember the times of Roman Empire. Located as eagle’s nest – almost 430 m over sea level will get you back in time to XIII century and on. Narrow, picturesque streets and facades hidden in Mediterranean bushes and middle-ages architecture make Eze Village one of the most interesting spots in whole France and if you’d add splendid views from the exotic gardens arranged on a very top of it you will always remember the day you visited it. This is a place that can truly inspire as it actually did with Frederick Nietzsche – major German philosopher of XIX century who lived in Eze and influenced a lot the Western philosophy.
When you’re still in Eze Village you can’t miss the opportunity of visiting the real French cosmetic manufacture – famous Fragonard. How do they make parfumes, who is the ‘nose’ and much more can be answered during free tour in English (or other language) and possibility of buying the scents at the factory prices makes the visit even more exciting.
Next stop is a legendary La Turbie – you might have not heard of it until NOW but from the moment you visit it you’ll surely say ‘WOW’. Because of monumental and 2000 years old Trophy of Alps built by Roman emperor August still overlooking the coast? Or would it be memorable stygma of Princess Grace of Monaco issued and still present there? Or maybe you won’t believe your eyes standing on a top shelf and having Monaco at hand like nowhere else? Nor convinced enough? Our guide will have an extra surprise once you get there.
From there we will take the highway to get to Italy – some 45 minutes and we’re in San Remo, beautifuly located between the sea and the mountains, enriched with two harbors Capo Nero and Capo Verde. That is a core of the Italian Riviera The city of flowers and Italian popular song contest. Variety od shops and boutiques would definitely keep you busy for a while.
Driving by the sea we will move on to Dolceaqua – village that stole the heart of Claude Monnet and thanks to that we may be blessed with many of his artworks. Doria castle, as it is known, has its origins in the 12th century, with substantial fortifications added in the 14th century and the castle being transformed into a more comfortable residence during the renaissance period.Dolceacqua is also known for the olives which are grown in abundance in the region, the locally grown flowers, and a decent red wine called Rossese produced from grapes grown in the surrounding hills. Pizza taste different there, it simply tastes real… Hard to forget the impression the place makes on tourists
Right after that we will be getting back to Villefranche where you boat awaits you
