After making your own way to Kualoa Ranch, hop aboard a large Swiss Pinzgauer off-road vehicle, which was originally designed for military use. With 6-wheel-drive and a tough exterior, the Pinzgauer is the perfect vehicle to navigate the steep and rugged back-country terrain of the working cattle ranch.

Step up into the large truckbed, get seated on padded benches that face one another and enjoy unobstructed views from the open-sided vehicle.

Hear from your driver-guide about the origins of the ranch and some of the movies filmed here as you travel across gorgeous Hakipu’u Valley. Be sure to hold on as your expert driver begins to climb steep jungle trails that wind through rain forest, stream beds and rocky roadways. Take in spectacular views throughout the tour and stop at a remote lookout point for great photo ops of eastern Oahu.

After snapping pics of the Ko’olau Mountains, jungle and ocean, hang on tight as your driver delivers thrills and chills on a fast-paced ride back down the hill.

You can expect a bumpy off-road experience as your tour takes in the wilderness areas of the large cattle ranch (not recommended for children under three, people with back problems or pregnant women).

After an adventurous ride through the jungle, your driver returns you to the your starting point at the completion of your expedition.

The guides were great, everything ran smoothly, some good views. I rated this 3/5 stars due to the fact that it was missing a lot of wow factor. Learned some history, but overall it wasn't as exciting as it was perceived to be.

We loved the spot! Did the drive in a 4 wheeler. We took a public transport from Waikiki to the ranch, an hour away and the scenery was amazing!!
