About this activity
Your day begins with a relaxing flight from Maui to Oahu. When you arrive in Oahu, you’ll be picked up from the airport to begin your Pearl Harbor day tour. You’ll first go to the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center, where you will see artifacts from the Japanese attack.

Then you’ll take a ride on a Navy launch boat across Pearl Harbor to the USS Arizona Memorial itself. There you can view the sunken remains of the USS Arizona and the resting place of more than 1,000 sailors killed in the 1941 attack.

Next, you’ll enjoy an audio-guided tour aboard one of the world’s most famous submarines, the USS Bowfin, which is nicknamed the “Pearl Harbor Avenger” for its instrumental role in the epic WWII battles in the Pacific. Then head to Hawaii’s newest and most exciting museum, Pacific Aviation Museum, and fly back in time to learn about history’s greatest aviation heroes.

Finally, take a special guided tour of the United States’ last and most famous battleship, the USS Missouri, where the Japanese surrendered to the Allies in 1945. This tour will provide you with a complete Pearl Harbor experience, as well as unforgettable memories of Hawaii.

The start of the tour was marred by the representative not being present at the airport to meet us as promised. We had not been advised of the flight number or time and no replacement representative had been arranged. We rang Polynesian Tours and were told there would be no representative but that our tickets could be picked up at the airline desk. However, the airline had no record of our tickets so we had to ring again and it transpired that the typo we had advised them about had not been corrected. The airline were very angry with us and stated that leaving tickets at the check in was not their policy. Eventually we had tickets and seats on the flight to Honolulu but it was a very unpleasant experience and we were concerned we would lose our whole day trip. From there on the day went smoothly with excellent service from our tour guide who even at the end of the day accompanied us to the TSA desk to ensure the residual typo problem did not prevent us flying back to Maui to our young children

The trip accomplished what we wanted ... to see Pearl Harbor, and hear about the significant history there. However, the logistics of the trip were less than desirable, beginning with being rescheduled to another day, and no follow-up. It was also difficult to communicate with the tour planners prior to arrival .. a website indicated to contact us via e-mail, or phone, but there was no phone number listed. The hotel where I was staying even tried to identify a phone number for Viator, and was unable to do so. The original booking indicated that transfers would be arranged from my hotel to the airport, but I learned upon arrival that this was no longer available in 2017 ... an additional 140 expense! Upon arrival in Pearl Harbor we were greeted promptly, and transportation arranged, however, the bus driver failed numerous times to tell us where to meet, and what time ... or gave a spread of time ... 2 or 2:30. The biggest disappointment was that we only had an hour at the USS Missouri ... 35 minutes of which was a lecture tour of the main deck where the signing took place ... we had no time to tour the ship ........ VERY disappointed in this. It seemed that the tour time could have been more balanced.

Our guide Robert was very informative and funny! Wish we had had a little more time on the Missouri but was toward the end of day and guide had to get us all to the airport!
