Pearl Harbor the home of the USS Arizona Memorial, learn about one of the most pivotal moments in US history of WWII.

Honolulu is home to some of Oahu’s most historic places. Next to the skyscrapers of the island main business district you will find important landmarks like the Iolani Palace, King Kamehameha statue, the Kawaiahao Church and the Aloha Tower. This area is also the seat of Hawaii’s government, home to the Hawaii State Capitol, Washington Place and Honolulu Hale.

A great warrior, diplomat and leader, King Kamehameha I united the Hawaiian Islands into one royal kingdom in 1810 after years of conflict. Kamehameha’s unification of Hawaii was significant not only because it was an incredible feat, but also because under separate rule, the islands may have been torn apart by competing western interests. Today, four commissioned statues stand to honor King Kamehameha I, Hawaii’s first king.

A national historic landmark and the only official state residence of royalty in the United States, from 1882 to 1893 Downtown Honolulu’s Iolani Palace was the official residence of the Hawaiian Kingdom’s last two monarchs, King Kalakaua and his sister and successor, Queen Liliuokalani.

The official unveiling of the Father Damien Statue took place in the United States Capitol Rotunda on Father Damien Day, April 15, 1969 alongside a reproduction of the Kamehameha Statue. Hawaiʻi celebrates Father Damien Day annually, created by an act of the Hawaiʻi State Legislature. On that day, the statue in Honolulu is ceremoniously draped in leis followed by solemn song and prayer.

The Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives (HMH) includes three restored houses, two of which are the oldest houses in Hawai`i, and research archives which provides a unique glimpse into 19th-century Hawai`i both onsite and online. The extensive education programs expand the site's relevance and positive impact on the community, and the visitor experience is further enhanced by an orientation center and a gift shop.

Punchbowl Crater is an extinct volcanic tuff cone located in Honolulu, It serves as a memorial to honor those men and women who served in the United States Armed Forces, and those who have given their lives in doing so.

Stop At: Puu Ualakaa State Park, Round Top Drive, Honolulu, Oahu, HI

Visit famous Tantalus lookout (Puu Ualakaa State Park) 1049 ft, where you will see Panoramic view of Honolulu, forested area on a cinder cone close to downtown Honolulu. Lookout provides a sweeping view of southern Oahu from Diamond Head to Pearl Harbor, including Manoa Valley.

I would highly recommend Karma tours for your trip to Honolulu. We went on the Pearl / City Tour. Fabulous! Great communicators, prompt, professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Neil and his wife (I apologize for not remembering her name), are a class act! Highly recommended!
