Our little group of three adults took the Pearl Harbor tour this week, and definitely found it worth it. From picking us up at our hotel to providing great educational information about both Pearl Harbor and Hawaii in general, our tour guide, George, was fabulous. He had all our tickets organized for the different events (film, boat ride, tour of the USS Missouri), shuttled us between events, and gave us tips on how to best access the events. It's worth noting that external tour guides are not permitted to give actual tours on site: Those are done by park rangers (at Pearl Harbor, which is an active military base as well as a memorial) and volunteers (at the USS Missouri). But George dropped us off at the various sites in a very comfortable (and well air conditioned) van for 13 people, and guided us through a complex series of choices while there. On our way back to the hotel, he took us through Honolulu and gave us an outstanding, and very personal, perspective on Hawaiian history . Loved the day! Loved George.
