The Tao Luau was incredible! The demonstrations are interactive, the food was great, and the show was beautiful and exciting! We felt like family among this small group of about 200 (yes, that’s a small luau compared to others on the island) and we were celebrated as it was our honeymoon and my wife was chosen from the crowd to be “High Chief” for the night. Luau tickets included access to Waimea Valley which is typically $18 per adult- a great value. We can’t recommend Tao Luau enough! Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We've had the opportunity to participate in several different luaus on Oahu, as well as one on Maui. This luau is our favorite by far and we would highly recommend it to anyone. Relatively small group of customers paired up with an extensive program and delicious food made for a very enjoyable evening!

The hosts at Toa Luau were very friendly and helpful, and the experience was educational and welcoming. Our "cousins" put on a terrific entertainment with samplings from some of the Polynesian cultures. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

This was my first experience going to a Luau and I definitely won't forget it! The Luau is held in the gorgeous Waimea Valley just opposite the famous Waimea beach. I highly recommend going early as your Luau ticket also gets you into the Valley park for free original cost is 16.75/adult. Prior to entering the park there is a gift shop and a snack bar that serves lunch food items and snacks. Once inside the park there is a paved road that will lead you through beautiful botanical gardens, secret pathways down to the river and historical ancient Hawaiian villages. At the end of the road less than a mile one way there is the refreshing Waimea falls where you can swim in a pool under the waterfall. Life vests are required to swim at the falls but are free with your park entrance. There is also a snack booth, bathrooms, changing rooms and an outdoor shower at the top of the falls. I would recommend giving yourself 3 hours to do the hike including swimming in the waterfall as there is lots to see. After the park closes the Luau begins and is right adjacent to the snack area outside of the park. You are greeted with a lei at the door and invited to participate in lei making and basket weaving demonstrations. There is also a fire pit where they show you how to cook traditional Hawaiian foods while leading you in traditional Hawaiian culture demonstrations. After that it's time to eat and the food was really good and there was lots of it. The VIP experience gives you a front row table, three free drink tickets and souvenir mug for the men and jewelry container for the women, but honestly the Luau is so small that there is really no bad seat in the house. Drinks ranged from 5 - 8 after the drink tickets ran out. The Luau itself was fun and energetic, the costumes were amazing and they really tried to get the crowd involved. You were also invited to try some of the local Hawaiian food that was cooked in the pit prior to dinner but it's really just for a taste, the actual buffet had more modern foods and was delicious. All-in-all we had a great time and other people in our party said it was one of the best Luau's they've been to. Would highly recommend it for your first time or you 10th time going to a Luau.
