Secrets of Dalmatian Hinterland - Imotski

Imotski is a small historic town located on the Northern side of the Biokovo Massif mountain in the Dalmatian Hinterland. Imotski is known for its beautiful medieval fortress, which was the former center of the Croatian municipality. In the 10th century Byzantine Emperor Constantine Porphyrogennetos recorded his visit to this magnificent fortress. We will start our exploration in Omi and the drive to the two natural karst lakes. The Blue Lake is a sinkhole that is around 150m deep in its southern part and about 290m deep in its northern part. The Red Lake is located 1.5km west of the town and was named after its surrounding red-colored cliffs. After we visit the breathtaking lakes will go to a traditional stone wine cellar for a wine tasting.
