About this activity
Explore three beautiful towns: Orvieto, Todi & Civita di Bagnoregio. While this is not a guided tour, you'll be taken to visit the top attractions of each town where you'll taste typical products and wines.First, journey to Orvieto, located on the flat summit of a large butte of volcanic tuff. Head to the Duomo, a black and white striped building in a mix of Romanesque and Gothic styles. Go inside to see the bronze doors, rose window, and frescoes of Luca Signorelli. After, walk around the historic center, visiting the Piazza del Popolo, Saint Patrick's Well, Corso Cavour, a variety of churches, and more. You also won't want to miss the underground city full of tunnels, galleries, wells, stairs, quarries, cellars, unexpected passageways, cisterns, and rooms. Continue on to Todi, also home to an impressive Gothic cathedral with a rose window and a Gothic altar. Explore the city center, visiting the Palazzo del Popolo, one of the most ancient communal palaces in Italy, and home to the city's art gallery. Other remarkable palaces in Todi include Palazzo del Capitano, Palazzo dei Priori, and Palazzo Vescovile. Visit the cities of Orvieto and Todi on a full-day tour through the Umbria region. While in Orvieto, see the underground city, visit the Duomo, and explore the historic center. Then head to Todi, home to a Gothic cathedral and several beautiful palaces.Civita di Bagnoregio is a small village placed on a hill in a secluded position. Tourists have to pay a small entrance fee, which will serve to raise the funds necessary for the maintenance of the same city. Civita di Bagnoregio is only accessible through a pedestrian bridge about 500 meters long, built of reinforced concrete about 50 years ago. The bridge can be crossed only on foot, or by residents authorized with scooters and bicycles. It is also called the "dying city" or, more rarely, "the dying town"
Civita di Bagnoregio called in Latin the 'balneum regis', is located in the province of Viterbo. Situated on a hill continually subject to landslides and erosion. Once you have seen both cities, begin your trip back to your hotel.
