Autumn Leaves in Kobe: Cruise and Ropeway from Kyoto

1 day
About this activity
Meet at Kyoto AVANTI at 11:15 and upon arrival to Kobe, your introduction to the city begins with a sightseeing cruise around the port. Keep your eyes peeled for all the landmarks as they pass by on the 40 minute trip.
Once back on dry land, swap the sea for the mountains as the bus takes you to Mt. Rokko for the 12 minute journey on the Rokko-Arima Ropeway. Take to the air for sweeping views of Kobe below as well as the stunning autumn leaves that will be bursting with color at this time of year.
Get off at the other side at Arima Onsen station and the tour bus will drop you off in the hot spring town of Arima, one of the oldest and most famous hot spring areas in Japan first discovered over 1,000 years ago. Explore the town on foot for an hour by wandering down the narrow streets.
Board the bus again and stop briefly at Mentai Park Kobe Sanda, a theme park/factory that produces the spicy cod roe delicacy mentaiko and shop for souvenirs. After the brief visit, the evening entertainment begins at Kobe Fruit & Flower Park Ozo Roadside station for the Kobe Illuminage illumination event. Enjoy the range of dazzling LED displays and shows on site including a large-scale illuminated maze, the first of its kind in Japan.
After 50 minutes at the Illuminage, the tour concludes at Rokko Garden Terrace, a leisure complex with restaurants and shops overlooking Kobe and Osaka Bay. From the observation terrace, take in the wonderful panoramic views of Kobe city lit up at night, considered one of the top three nightscapes in Japan.
The tour returns to Kyoto anytime between 20:00~22:00, depending on traffic.
