About this activity
Usually we call this sword cutting technique "tate", and it's a special technique that only selected people can learn, for example stage and film actors.

The technique includes a beautiful acting expression, posture, gestures, etiquette, attentiveness, and caring attitude, as well as the discipline of the mind. The moral principle behind this is what we call "dou". Combined with "tate", we can say that this technique is is "tate-dou" and you will learn more about the traditional culture of Japan through the "tate-dou".
