About this activity
You will visit the middle-class merchant house (former residence of the Niigawa family). Furusato-machiyakan, one of the designated cultural assets of Izumisano, has been well preserved, so visitors can still imagine how people were living in old days. Niigawa family had engaged in soy sauce industry from the late 18th century. Since Sano-machiba was developed spontaneously, the houses were built along roads unsystematically. Roads are curved and narrow. You might feel as if you had strayed into a maze.
