Start the day by going to one of the most famous zen temples of Japan, Ryoan-ji, where you will have the chance to rest and meditate over its legendary rock garden. Will you be able to spot all the rocks from a single perspective?

Stop At: Nijō Castle, 541 Nijōjōchō, Nakagyō-ku, Kyoto, 604-8301, Japan
Moving on from Ryoanji temple, head to Nijo Castle, the Shogun (ruler of Japan) residence during the 17th century. The main hall is richly decorated, showing the wealth of old times.

Stop At: Kiyomizu-dera Temple, 1-294 Kiyomizu, Higashiyama, Kyoto 605-0862 Kyoto Prefecture
After lunch, visit one of Kyoto's most famous landmarks: Kiyomizu-dera temple, famous for its large wooden terrace*, where you will be able to enjoy the view from Eastern Kyoto’s treasure Higashiyama. An unmissable spot that offers a huge variety of both natural and traditional landscapes.
