About this activity
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou (120km 4×4)
We pick you up from your hotel in Marrakech and drive to Ait Ben Haddou in 4x4. After lunch, we offer a short guided tour to our famous kasbah, a UNESCO world heritage site. Its giant clay fortification is the setting of many Hollywood movies.(L,D)
Day 2: Ait Ben Haddou – Kalaat M’Gouna (130 km Quad)
Today your quad adventure begins! We drive on desert tracks towards Kalaat M’Gouna, famous for its annual Rose Festival.(B,L,D)
Day 3: Kalaat M’Gouna – Tinghir (70 km Quad)
We drive to Tinghir, an 30km long oasis with beautiful palm groves and farms. Amazed at the traditional ingenious irrigation system.(B,L,D)
Day 4: Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Tamattouchte Pass (2800m) – Msemrir – Dada Gorges (80 km Quad)
Today we challenge the first high pass! From Tinghir through Todra Gorge, we drive uphill to the Tamattouchte Pass (2800m), then down to Msemrir. Continue to the Dades Gorge.(B,L,D)
Day 5: Dades Gorges – Bou Thrar – Kalaat M’Gouna – Boumalne Dades (150 km Quad)
We follow a winding tarmac road through Dades Gorge until Bou Thrar. After lunch, we ascent to a pass and admire Mgoun's snow peak, Morocco’s 3rd highest. Finally we descend to El Kelaa M’Gouna plains and continue to Boumalne Dades.(B,L,D)
Day 6: Boumalne Dades – Tizzi n’Tazazart (2408m) – Bab n Ali – Nkob (80 km Quad)
We drive to Izemgane where we ascent on zigzag road to a plateau, where Amalou n’Mansour (2712 m), highest in Jebel Saghro, can be seen. Continues uphill until the stunning Tizzi n’Tazazart Pass (2270m) then descent to the stupendous rock formations of Bab n’Ali. A final short climb brings us to Draa Valley and N’kob.(B,L,D)
Day 7: Nkob – Tinzouline- Zagora (60 km on Quad)
We pass Tinzouline towards Zagora, a commercial centre along former caravan route and where the original, iconic ‘Tombouctou, 52 jours’ (Timbuktu, 52 days) sign is.(B,L,D)
Day 8: Zagora - M'Hamid - Dune Lihoudi (60 km on Quad)
We drive to M'hamid where the road stops. Here you enter the Sahara! Continue to Dune Lihoudi (Dunes of the Jews). Overnight in desert tents.(B,L,D)
Day 9: Dune Lihoudi - Dune Chigaga (90 km on Quad)
We drive to the final highlight of our trip, Dune Chigaga, the largest dune in Morocco! Sleep under million of stars in desert tents.(B,L,D)
Day 10: Dune Chigaga - Foum Zguid (90 km on Quad)
We leave Dune Chigaga and drive on semi-landscape towards Foum Zguid.(B,L,D)
Day 11: Foum Zguid - Ouarzazate - Ait Ben Haddou (190 km on Quad)
Our final day back through Ouarzazate to Ait Ben Haddou.(B,L,D)
Day 12: Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech (120km in 4×4)
We drive back to Marrakech in 4x4 and drop you off at your hotel or airport. (B)
