About this activity
This relaxing 1.5-hour cruise starts in the afternoon from central Oxford and sails downstream from Folly Bridge taking in the best known reach of the River Thames in Oxford.
Traveling down the University Regatta Course passing Christ Church Meadows, the University College Boat Houses and other landmarks on the way to Iffley lock. This is often a busy and vibrant section of the river where training rowing crews, punts and pleasure boats jostle for river space in an wonderful display of Oxford at play. Very peaceful trip down the Thames and through Iffley Lock. The high tea set up was sumptuous : finger sandwiches, scones, small sweets - all delightful. Tea also was good, of course, although English Breakfast was the designated variety and there was no other choice.
We enjoyed afternoon tea many places during our two weeks in England. This tea was as good or better than any we had in London. The cruise was incredibly relaxing. Our guides were funny and told stories and pointed out places of interest all along the cruise. We had a marvelous time.
Went with my mum and my 2 children. Great experience for all 3 generations.
