Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral full-day tour from Oxford

Our day trip takes us South West from Oxford and into the county of Wiltshire famed for its pre-Roman archaeology. A scenic drive through the North Wessex Downs brings us to the quaint village of Avebury with its manor house and impressive stone circle, where you have a chance to walk among the stones. We continue through the charming market town of Marlborough via the breath-taking scenery of Salisbury Plain to Stonehenge, the iconic circle of stones, built as a temple some 4500 years ago. Your tour includes entry to Stonehenge and you will have time to visit the stone circle, the Neolithic houses and the Stonehenge Exhibition with over 250 archaeological objects on display. Leaving Stonehenge we head towards the beautiful medieval city of Salisbury and after a panoramic tour you will have the opportunity to visit magnificent Salisbury Cathedral with Britain’s tallest church spire and its copy of the Magna Carta. Following our visit to Salisbury we return to Oxford.
