Fiji Combo Day Tour Including Navua River Canoe, Fijian Village Visit, and Magic Waterfall
After cruising for an hour you will come to the Magic Waterfall, Navua's tallest cascade. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal clear pools beneath the falls before climbing aboard a bamboo raft for a smooth, 30-minute ride on the method of transport favored by Fiji's native ancestors.
Your next stop is a traditional village, where a Fijian Warrior will escort you to the bure, or village meeting house. Experience some of Fiji's age-old customs and traditions including the performance of a welcome yaqona ceremony where you have the opportunity to try kava, a local drink made from the root of the kava plant.
Learn about the history of village, which was established by a lone Englishman named John Humphrey Danford in the early 1800s. After a war dance performed by the young men of the village, perhaps test your own sense of rhythm by joining in with a 'snake dance.' Try your hand at tapa painting on traditional cloth and see women plaiting Fijian mats. Then it is time to unearth your lovo lunch – meat, fish and vegetables such as cassava and wild yams which are wrapped in banana leaves and cooked underground before being served with salads and fruit.
After lunch, your driver will return you to your hotel, where the tour ends.

I highly recommend this tour. I especially enjoyed the waterfall, and the lunch (I even had the seconds, and I never ever do!)
Fantastic!! We had such a good time. This is the second time we have taken this tour and both times were great/
What a fabulous tour! A highlight of our Fiji trip! Transfers from the Coral Coast were included in the tour price and pick up was prompt. Tour guides were very friendly and knowlegable. From the Village we were taken down the river in "Angel" the canoe for a swim at the Magic Waterfall. Amazing! We also went on a bamboo raft and were entertained by Mr Knox before heading back in the canoe to the Village. Time in the village consisted of a Kava Ceremony, traditional lunch (best local food we tasted during our stay in Fiji), entertainment, demonstration of traditional crafts and Twinkle twinkle little star with the Village preschoolers. There was also the option of a massage or hair braiding (that I couldn't resist) for an additional cost. Lots of climbing in and out of rafts and the short walk to the waterfall was a bit tricky in places if mobility is an issue. In saying this there was an older gentleman on our tour and the tour guides were very accommodating.
Really enjoyed the whole experience they could warn a little more of the long drive to the village but otherwise no complaints everyone was so friendly! Keeping everyone interested and amused the whole time! Their knowledge of New Zealand was surprisingly good making us feel more involved. Worth it!
Really fun filled day spent Authentic cultural experience and beautiful nature all along the way. Every part of the day was fun except the long bus ride but we have little Choice but take the only road to nauva
The river trip to the water fall and to the village was a great experience. Learning the Fijiean culture was very interesting.
Awesome tour and so much for your money! Our guides were very knowledgable and the views were incredible. The highlights were walking back to the magical waterfall and at the village, Nemani the guide! His english was absolutely impeccable! He had such great stories about his life and the history of his village. He made the tour! A must see for all ages. Lunch was amazing!
Brilliant tour made even more special by the tour guides. Very friendly and welcoming guides who take you along the river and show you around the village. Village also very friendly and welcoming. One of a kind river experience. Long but very enjoyable day.
This was a really great tour. Loved the trip down the river, the cool off in the beautiful falls and village visits are always a wonderful cultural experience. Food and entertainment were both good. Definitely recommend!
This was an amazing day, thank you !!!!! - the only thing we would change was the rain - however that didn't spoil our magical day. Do yourself a favour, take this tour - get out of the city and into the absolutely breathtaking countryside with the friendliest of locals. You won't be disappointed. Can I please ask again, as I didn't have a pen on the day we visited your village, and cannot remember the places you recommended to stay down your neck of the woods, somewhere not so touristy as we love the serenity and the beauty down there. If you could please give us some suggestions as we would love to come back and stay a while. Thanks Linda
We had a wonderful day on this tour, the canoe ride up the river was great fun and very beautiful. Enjoyed the refreshing dip in the waterfall and then the trip back to the village. Fijian people are so friendly and welcoming and the village people made each of us feel important to them. Enjoyed a beautiful lunch and then a lovely massage by one of the village ladies. I would highly recommend this tour for a way to see a little of inland Fiji.
