This 5-day tour introduces you to eastern Sicily, dominated by Mt Etna and famous for its breathtaking Greek and Roman archaeological sites.

This tour was operated by VerdeSicilia, a local tour operator in Sicily. Our guide, Marina Gristina was the BEST and totally made the tour worth every dollar we paid. We loved everything we saw in Palermo, Agrigento, Taormina, Syracusa, and at Mt. Etna. We do wish the first day had not involved so much time on the bus 5 hours, but, otherwise, the trip was well organized.
From a person who prefers to go solo, i would highly recommend this tour as most visits were day trips from the hotel so I did not feel like i was in a boot camp. The hotel provided an excellent breakfast buffet and featured a beautiful pool area and private beach. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the Sicilian way of life and the history of the island.

Marina was a great tour guide. we had an excellent group and the smalls towns of the Godfather filming were beautiful. The bus driver was excellent and pleasant. The hotels were not that of the advertised but acceptable.
We have never been on a guided tour before and were dubious as to whether we would enjoy it. It was great. Our guide, Marina, was delightful: enthusiastic, knowledgable, caring and charming. Our fellow travellers were interesting and educated. The hotel accommodation was certainly 4 star. The only quibble - a better air-conditioned coach would have been appreciated.

Despite the 4 star rating, we felt a little ripped off in that the 5 day tour was actually 3 days plus a 7:30Pm start for Dinner on day one and ended with breakfast on day 5. The actual tour and guides were excellent value and very informative.
