Caltavuturo Gastronomic Tour

We'll arrive at Caltavuturo after about a one-hour bus traveling through the valley of Creek Imera and than we will visit, walking around, Torre Vecchia. We will explore the ancient village: here you can admire the ruins of the Castle and the remains of the Medieval Church of St. Bartolomeo. Next stop will be the picturesque “mannera” where one can taste the typical ricotta cheese. In Caltavuturo we will visit the seventeenth-century Chiesa Madre and the church of Santa Maria La Nuova. Both churches hold paintings and sculptures of the Renaissance period…authentic works of art.

Typical buffet lunch, provided by us, will follow in a very original setting.

In the afternoon we will visit the Museo Civico, located in the old monastery, testified by the cloister of St. Francesco church. The museum holds Hellenistic and Roman finds; a rich collection of “Pupi” and curiosities. Finally, honey tasting. Not far away from the town center, in fact, there’s a young company producing goodies

We will return to Cefalù in the late afternoon, enriched by a day full of beauty!
