Private Tour to Mount Etna from Palermo

Your morning begins with a pick-up from your hotel meeting your Local Guide. Take the roughly 3-hour drive to Mount Etna, up to 6,500 feet (1,980 meters) at Rifugio Sapienza. Enjoy a walk at the nearby Silvestri Craters, or simply soak up the atmosphere of the volcano. Otherwise You can also opt to climb to 8,200 feet (2,500 meters) aboard a cable car, then continue in a special off-road vehicle to an altitude approved by competent authorities (usually about 9,800 feet, or 3,000 meters). Here Etna mountain guides will accompany you close to the volcano’s activity. Admire panoramic views stretching out over the sea of the impressive Central and Southeastern craters and the lava flows that characterize the surrounding area.

Optional Tour:
Possibility to stop en route at a local WINERY for a wine tasting and/or a light lunch before continuing to TAORMINA, the pearl of the Ionian Sea. Together we’ll visit this lovely town including the Greek Theatre which has inspired generations of travelers and artists.
